You saved Hollywood’s ass: Steven Spielberg gets candid with Tom Cruise at Oscar nominee luncheon, actor blushes

If Tom Cruise is an art in-front of camera, Steven Spielberg is an artist behind. In a world full of amazing meetings, Tom Gun: Maverick-actor recently got candid with Steven Spielberg at the Oscar nominee luncheon on February 14, 2023.

While the two had a heartfelt conversation during star-studded evening, Steven was caught praising Tom Cruise for saving the theatrical movie business with Top Gun: Maverick.

Notably, Steven and Tom are both nominated for Oscars this year in their respective categories for The Fabelmans and Top Gun: Maverick.

In a video shared by director Kartiki Gonsalves, Spielberg told Tom Cruise, “You saved Hollywood’s ass and you might have saved theatrical distribution.”

Spielberg’s comment made Tom blushing, as the Oscar-winning director added, “Seriously, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ might have saved the entire theatrical industry.” Check the video.

The Top Gun: Maverick is nominated for six Oscars, The Fabelmans is up for seven. The Oscars will premier on March 12, 2023.

Top Gun: Maverick releases in 2022 and has become the second movie to gross over $1 billion at the global box office. The film ranks as the 11th highest-grossing movie in history worldwide.
