Yo-Yo test, Dexa and more – Major takeaways from BCCI review meet

The Roger Binny-led panel on Thursday held a crucial review meeting in Mumbai to analyze India’s shocking exit from the T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, a review meeting was pending since India’ horrific show in the T20 World Cup, in Australia.

In a highly anticipated panel meet, attended by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, NCA chief VVS Laxman and selector Chetan Sharma – made key recommendations for the selection at national level – with an objective to prepare a quality side at World Cup 2023. The key recommendations are as follows-:

Yo-Yo test, and Dexa (bone scan test) have been approved for selection in the national squad.

Emerging players will now have to play ‘substantial domestic matches’ in order to stand eligible for the selection criteria.

Taking Men’s FTP and ICC CWC 2023, BCCI has instructed NCA to work in tandem with the IPL franchise to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the IPL 2023.

Issues of players availability, workload management and fitness parameters were the key matters which were discussed during the meetings along with the roadmap to the ICC CWC 2023.
