World Cup: BCCI Forms Two Sub-Committees For Venues Supervision – Details Inside

Ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has formed a five-member sub-committee to supervise every aspect of the venues including granting of infrastructure subsidies.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the five office-bearers – president Roger Binny, secretary Jay Shah, treasurer Ashish Sehlar, vice-president Rajeev Shukla, and joint secretary Devajit Saikia – have been assigned to monitor the work at 12 venues, including those hosting warm-up games.
A separate committee has been formed to make recommendations for the infrastructure subsidies.
The committee for the infrastructure subsidies includes IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal, former treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary, former Apex Council member Prabhtej Bhatia and Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary A Shankar, along with the five office-bearers.

- BCCI President Roger Binny has been given the responsibility to monitor the work at Ahmedabad and Chennai.
- BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is in charge of the northern venues of Delhi and Dharamshala.
- Treasurer Ashish Sehlar will oversee Pune, Lucknow and Guwahati.
- Vice-president Rajeev Shukla will handle the southern-city Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
- Joint-secretary Devjit Saikia is responsible for Mumbai, Kolkata and Trivandrum.
In the communique to the state associations, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said, ‘We anticipate that these sub-committees will work diligently towards achieving our shared goals and objectives.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has hired an external agency and decided to allocate Rs. 50 crore each to the venues for sprucing up the stadiums, mainly the corporate boxes, dressing rooms and outfields.
