World Cup 2023 likely to start on October 5 and conclude on November 19: Report

The 2023 ODI World Cup is likely to start on October 5 and conclude on November 19. As per fresh reports, BCCI has shortlisted dozens of stadiums to host multiple matches in the country but the most important match of the marquee tournament will take place in world’s biggest cricket stadium i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai – are the venues shortlisted as possible venues for the ODI World Cup 2023. The tournament will comprise 48 matches including three knockouts across the 46-day period.

However, there is no confirmation on the exact fixtures and their venues or regarding the warm-up games ahead of the ICC tournament.

Notably, India, under the leadership of MS Dhoni clinched the marquee title when India last hosted the ODI World Cup in 2011. The host defeated Sri Lanka to clinch the prestigious title for the second time in its history.
