Will Go To Pakistan Via Wagha Border On September 4: BCCI Prez Roger Binny

BCCI President Roger Binny has confirmed that he would travel to Pakistan during the Asia Cup next month in September.

Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board had extended an invitation to the BCCI to witness Pakistan-leg of the Asia Cup matches.

BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla and I will travel to Pakistan through the Wagah Border on September 4. Apart from the official dinner, we will also witness a couple of matches,” BCCI President Roger Binny told TOI.

Reportedly, the duo will return to India on September 7. This will be the first visit of a BCCI president to Pakistan since India’s bilateral ties with Pakistan got tensed following 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

The BCCI President also pointed out that India-Pakistan rivalry is the fiercest and even bigger than Ashes.

Matches between the two countries are good for sports and it’s popularity,” he added.

Before going to Pakistan, BCCI president and vice-president will travel Sri Lanka to watch India vs Pakistan match on September 2.

Pakistan is the official host of the Asia Cup 2023 but as BCCI refused to send its player to Pakistan, Sri Lanka was selected as co-host. Four games will take place in Pakistan and 9 games will held in Sri Lanka, including final.
