Why BCCI Wants To Rest Rahul Dravid & Co From Ireland Tour. Details Inside


Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and his staff is likely to be rested for the Ireland tour, comprising three T20Is.

Reportedly, VVS Laxman-led National Cricket Academy staff will take over in Ireland tour – starting from August 20 in Dublin.

As reported by Cricbuzz, Rahul Dravid (head coach), Vikram Rathour (batting), and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will return home in August from the United States – after the completion multi-format West Indies tour.

Reason:

The reason being resting Dravid and Co. is to managing workload ahead of high-stake tournaments like Asia Cup and World Cup 2023.

Coaching staff for Ireland tour:

As regular coaching staff is set to be rested for the Ireland tour, the responsibility will land to VVS Laxman, Head of the NCA, and his team at National Cricket Academy I’m Bengaluru.

Notably, Laxman has previously coached Team India during one of the Ireland tours last year.

Squad:

The squad for the Ireland tour is yet be finalized but most likely to Hardik Pandya will lead the squad. The bilateral will be played in Dublin on August 19, 20 and 23.
