WATCH: West Bengal police drags the body of rape victim, violence erupts

West Bengal: Intense violence erupted in West Bengal’s Kaliaganj on Saturday after a minor tribal girl was allegedly raped and murdered. Shocking visuals have emerged from the ground zero showing police personnel allegedly dragging the victim’s body through the street.

According to reports the crime took place on Friday in Benga’s Uttar Dinajpur district and the body of the victim was later found by locals.

Meanwhile, police has informed that the girl, who was resident of Gangua village of Uttar Dinajpur district, went missing on Thursday evening after she went for her tuition. Her family was not able to trace her the entire night, despite extensive searched by relatives and villagers.

After agitated locals clashed with the police, heavy forces were deployed in the area. Arson and stone pelting was observed form the area.

BJP’s IT cell Chief Amit Malviya shared a video of police officials dragging the body of the ‘victim.’ Mr. Malviya also claimed that minor girl belonged to the Rajbogshi community. Check the video.

The National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of the incident and asked West Bengal police to intervene in the matter and ensure fair investigation. Meanwhile, police has revealed that two accused have been arrested in the matter, and further investigation is underway.
