Talking about the match, Indian top-order failed to make an impression in the game but KL Rahul (75 off 91) and Ravindra Jadeja (45) stitched match-defining knock to guide their side home.

For his all-round performance, Ravindra Jadeja (2 wickets, 1 incredible catch and 45* runs) was adjudged Player of the Matcha award. Both the teams will now travel to Chennai for the second one-day international of the bilateral.
