WATCH: Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia hold protest at Jantar Mantar against WFI president, claim Delhi Police not registering FIR

New Delhi: Months after sending shockwaves in Indian sports fraternity by alleging WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan of sexual harassment charges, prominent wrestlers in the country – Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik have once reached Jantar Mantar to raise the issue.

In a fresh allegation, senior wrestlers have lashed out at Delhi Police for refusing to register an FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan, the president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

Taking to Twitter, Vinesh Phogat wrote, ‘Various female wrestlers have brought laurels to this country in prestigious wrestling competititions have been sexually exploted and harassed by Brij Bhushan Singh, President, WFI.’

“The Delhi Police is not even registering the FIR despite complaints on 21, 4, 2023,” she wrote.

Earlier, Government of India formed a committee, comprising of Yogeshwar Dutt and Marry Kom to investigate the matter.

Later, WFI president was also asked to step down from his position pending investigations.
