WATCH: Venkatesh Iyer survives brutal injury as he hurt his knee while playing a scoop shot vs MI in IPL 2023

Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders prolific batter Venkatesh Iyer looked in sublime touch against Mumbai Indians at iconic Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, on Sunday, April 16.

After KKR was reduced to 11/1 in 1.5 overs, Iyer propelled team’s total as he smashed 39 off just 16 deliveries within powerplay.

While Iyer rattled Mumbai’s bowling in the powerplay, he also escaped a brutal injury as one of the delivery by Cameron Green hit Iyer’s knee. It all happened in the fourth over of the match when Iyer tried to scoop one of Green’s delivery, but as the batter missed the ball, it hit is knee.

Iyer immediately went down in pain as KKR’s physio was on ground to check his well-being. Watch the video.
