Colombo: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma on Tuesday, September 12 scripted history in international cricket by completing 10,000 ODI runs.
A day after outplaying Pakistan in the first Asia Cup Super-4 game, Rohit Sharma-led side is taking on defending champion Sri Lanka at R. Premanand Stadium in Colombo.
After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma opted to bat first and providing steady foundation to the side along with Shubman Gill.
It was 7th over of the match when Kasun Rajitha bowled a fuller deliver at a good length and Rohit extended his arms and lifted it through the line to send the ball siling over the straight boundary. It was indeed a marvellous six to bring 10,000 ODI runs.

Notably, Rohit Sharma is the second fastest to complete 10,000 ODI runs. The prolific opener took 241 innings to achieve the feat.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli completed 10,000 ODI runs in just 205 innings. Third in the list is master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who scored 10,000 ODI runs in 259 innings.
Rohit also became the sixth India and 15th overall to reach the landmark.
