WATCH – No terror link, army jawan confessed to be harrassed by deceased: Indian Army on Bathinda military base killing

Fresh reports in the killing of four Army jawans at Bathinda military station on April 12, have denied any terror links, instead it happened due to personal enmity as the accused jawan confessed to be harassed by the Army men he killed.
Notably, Punjab police on Monday arrested Army personnel, identified as Mohan Desai in connection with the Bathinda military station firing incident in which four jawans were killed.
While addressing the press conference on Monday, Bathinda Police and Army said that the accused Mohan Desai killed the jawans due to personal rivalry.
“Weapons used to kill the jawans and the rounds were stolen by Desai. He concocted the story. The axe story was false. The accused Jawan was trying to confuse the police,” Punjab police said.
Notably, the accused jawan is unmarried and will be produced in the court. The officers further revealed that the involvement of any other person has not been found so far.
The accused has also confessed his involvement in stealing of an INSAS rifle and killing four of his colleagues to the police.
“As per his confession, he stole the weapon along with a filed magazine on early morning of April 9, 2023. He then hid the weapon. On April 12 at around 4:30 AM, while he was on sentry duty, he recovered the weapon from its hiding place, moved to the first floor and killed all four personnel while they were asleep,” Army said in a statement.
