WATCH: MS Dhoni gives major update on IPL retirement, ‘takes heavy toll’ says CSK skipper

After months of speculations and rumours in regards with his IPL career, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni finally broke his silence after guiding his side to tenth IPL final on Tuesday evening.

While defending 172/5 in the 2nd innings, Chennai bowlers produced a clinical show an restricted Gujarat Titans at 157. During post-match presentation, when Harsha Bhogle asked MS Dhoni about his future plans and if Chepauk crowd will get to see him once again, Chennai skipper said;

“I don’t know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But I will always be there for CSK whether it’s in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside.”

Speaking of his efforts he is putting at the age of 41, MS Dhoni said that he is on the road since December and it’s taking heavy toll on his body.

“I don’t really know. Frankly, it takes a heavy toll. I have been out of home for literally 4 months now. January 31 was the time when I got out of work and started practicing in March. It takes a lot but I have ample time to decide,” he added.

MS Dhoni has amassed 104-runs with the help of 10 sixes at a strike rate of 185. 41-year-old has a golden opportunity to equal Rohit Sharma’s record of five IPL titles. Chennai Super Kings will square off in the summit-clash on May 28, with the winner of the Qualifier 2. Gujarat Titans will take on the winner of the Eliminator 1 – between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians.
