WATCH: Kanwariyas Attack Elderly Muslim Couple, Overturns Car In Haridwar; Police Denies Communal Angle

Haridwar police has arrested two after a group of Kanwariyas allegedly attacked an elderly Muslim couple – and overturned their car. In a viral video, Kanwariyas are seen vandalising and overturning an elderly couple’s car.

Reason behind attacking the car:

While the Haridwar police denied any communal angle in the matter, several reports on social media stated otherwise.

Many users on Twitter said that as the car slightly brushed one of the Kanwariya, the couple was attacked and overturned by the group of Kanwariya.

Police denies communal angle:

However, Hardiwar police urged everyone not to spread any misleading information without complete knowledge.

“It is not being propagated/broadcasted through social media that a couple belonging to a particular community was riding in the car and no has been taken by the police in this matter. This is completely false,” police said.

The police further claimed that the no community was involved in this incident. “Pratap Singh is the car’s driver. “Haridwar police has registered a case and arrested two persons in the said case, legal action is on,” police added.
