Was asked to swipe floors of a coaching centre: Rinku Singh reveals how he fell in love with cricket

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh rose to fame on Sunday, April 09, evening when he did an unbelievable against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi stadium. The 25-year-old smashed five consecutive sixes to chase 29 off the last five deliveries in a high-octane clash.
A day after Rinku Singh notched up unprecedented ending to KKR vs GT match, the middle-order batter revealed how he was once tasked to clean floor of a coaching centre but he ended up running away from that place, and started focusing on cricket.
“My brother used to work in a coaching centre, so he took us there where we were told that we should wipe the floors in the morning. I ran away from there and since then I have focussed on cricket,” Rinku told India Today.
“It has been a difficult journey for me, since my father did not like cricket. My father asked me to work with him. We used to carry cylinders on a bike with my brother. My mother also said that since our father is not supporting us, then we should just start working with him,” Rinku added.
The KKR batter revealed how in an inter-school event, he started playing cricket and since then completely fell in love with the game.
