Vinesh Phogat accuses member of Wrestling Oversight Committee of leaking information in media

The sexual harassment scandal involving Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and national wrestlers has added yet another dimension to it as Asian Gold medalist Vinesh Phogat has made serious allegation against oversight committee member.
Notably, Sports Minister formed the committee under the leadership of legendary boxer MC Mary Kom on January 27 to investigate the serious charges against the WFI president.
In a fresh development, Vinesh Phogat has alleged that a member of the probe committee is leaking ‘sensitive information’ to the media, and demanded stringent action against the person.
In her social media post, Phogat revealed that a sportsperson member of the oversight committee has been allegedly ‘leaking sensitive contents of the complaint of sexual harassment to certain media personnel.’
“Being a sports person it is extremely disheartening to see a fellow sports-person member of the Oversight Committee has behaved so recklessly. Their attitude towards women is evident from such behavior,” she wrote.
The celebrated wrestler has added that the development has added ‘great mistrust towards the committee as she feels let down.’ She urged for strict action should be taken against the member for using his position in such a manner and that ‘they should be removed form the committee.’
Notably, Vinesh and Bajrang led the protest against the WFI president Brij Bhushan at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi last month levelling serious allegations including sexual harassment and misappropriation of funds against him.
