Shocking revelations:

As mentioned in the FIR, after repeated attempt to lure the complainant, the accused turned up at her college in Vadodara in 2021 and threatened her of suicide if she rejected her marriage proposal.

The accused then raped her at her friend’s house in Vadodara. At the behest of marriage, the accused raped her multiple times before the girl broke off her relationship with her on knowing of her marriage.

Asim forced her to marry his friend:

When the accused continued to threaten family, the complainant told him that marriage is not possible as it would cause communal tension. To overcome that issue, Asim asked her to get married to his friend Ronak Patel and get divorced from him ‘so that they could get married.’

Approached police:

Accordingly, the woman married to Patel at Navsari temple and returned to her village and appeared before the Khergam police. The victim was handed to her parents.

Terror in the entire village:

District Local Crime Branch inspector DS Korat said that the man has created a terror in the entire village and everybody was scared of him.

We paraded him in the market area of the village with an intention to send a message among the public that nobody is above law and those who are into criminal activities will be strictly dealt with,” he said.

The officer also revealed that the accused has 18 different offences of quarrelling, bootlegging etc against him.
