Umpire killed for giving ‘no-ball’ during cricket match in Odisha’s Cuttack

A cricket match in Odisha’s Cuttack turned deadly after an altercation broke between a players and an umpire. 

As per reports, an umpire felicitating cricket match was killed in a rift of rage after he displayed a ‘no-ball’ signal during a match.

Deceased, identified as 22-year-old Lucky Raut, was stabbed to death by one Smruti Ranjan Rout following an argument over a ‘no-ball.’ 

Reports confirmed that the deceased was stabbed to death in the field before he others playing the game nabbed the accused. 

Reportedly, match was taking place between Brahmapur and Shankarpur. 

The incident reportedly triggered tension in the village, following which police force deployed in the village.
