Umesh Yadav Dealing With Hamstring Injury; Not Dropped For WI Tour: Report

Ever since All-India Senior Selection Committee announced Test squad for the West Indies tour – starting from July 12 – questions have started to raise over the selection criteria.

Many retired Indian cricketers and cricket fans raised doubts over the selection of Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of Sarfaraz Khan, non-inclusion of Cheteshwar Pujara and many claimed that Umesh Yadav has been dropped from the squad following his poor performance at WTC Final 2023.

Fresh reports in the matter have suggested Umesh Yadav is dealing with hamstring injury and currently recovering at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

“Umesh is suffering from a hamstring injury and is recovering at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore,” source was quoted Sportskeeda.

Notably, Umesh Yadav had a forgettable WTC Final 2023 as he went wicketless in the first innings while the pacer picked two wickets in the 2^nd innings at The Oval.
