Sheer Domiance: Twitter Reacts As Pakistan Thrash Nepal By 268-Runs In Asia Cup Opener

Babar Azam-led Pakistan thrashed debutant Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023 opener on August 30, 2023 at Multan Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. Pakistan notched up thrilling 278-run in a game that scripted couple of records for Men in Green.  

Batting first, Pakistan had a troublesome start as Fakhar Zaman and Imam ul Haq got dismissed early in the game but Babar Azam and Md. Rizwan steadied Pakistan’s ship in the death overs. The duo stitched 96-run stand for third wicket.

Though Nepal made a comeback with two quick wickets but Babar and Iftikhar remained at the crease to take the host to a huge total. Babar complemented his knock with brilliant 4 6s and 14 4s while Iftikhar Ahmed propelled his knock with 4 6s and 11 boundaries. He scored 109-runs off 71 deliveries.

214-run stand between Babar and Iftikhar set the tone for Men In Green. In response, Nepal was stunned by Shaheen Afridi in the first over of the innings as the latter hunted two crucial wickets in the 5^th and 6^th delivery.

Shaheen was well assisted by Shadab Khan who picked four wickets in the game and conceded just 27-runs in 6.4 overs. Babar was adjudged Player of The Match for his incredible knock.

Pakistan will now travel to Colomo to play high-volate game against India on September 2 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
