Thank you Supreme Court: Netizens laud SC decision to halt mass eviction in Haldwani
In the most significant development, the Supreme Court of India has taken note of humanitarian values while listening to encroachment case in Haldwani, which has trigged widespread protest in the local area, and put up a stay on High Court’s order.
Following the orders from Uttarakhand High Court, which ordered eviction of over 4,000 people nearby Haldwani Railway Station, Supreme Court of India has claimed that there should also be restrain on any more construction/development on the land. The decision from the apex court brought lot of relief to the residents in Haldwani as they were seen celebrating the decision which came in their favour.
