Suresh sir, this is not done: Twitter schooled Sudharshan news’ Suresh Chavhanke for linking wedding reception with Love Jihad

Within hours after Sudarshan News’s Suresh Chavhanke posted an interfaith couple’s wedding reception card on Twitter on Friday, linking it with Love Jihad following the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar, allegedly chopped into 35 pieces by her live-in-partner Aaftab Poonawala in Delhi, the event was cancelled by the parents of both sides.

An RSS member turned reporter wrongly claimed that the interfaith couple was getting married, despite the invitation card mentioning it was a reception. Chavhanke’s post instantly went viral on the internet and garnered over 10,000 likes, 5,000 plus retweets and over 2,000 comments.

The owner of the Vishwakarma hall in Vasai (West), which was supposed to host the event, told The Sunday Express that they are not willing to invite any sort of trouble and refused to lodge any complaint.

While the couple involved in the matter has refrained from speaking up, an officer from Manikpur police station informed the media they had not received any complaint against Sudharshan news’ chief editor regarding spreading misinformation.

Hence, they cannot initiate any action. In this article, we will list reactions from the Twitters users lashing out at Suresh Chavhanke’s post for linking the reception with Love Jihad.
