Shreyas Iyer Unlikley To Feature Against Sri Lanka: Report

Colombo: Fresh reports have confirmed that Shreyas Iyer is unlikely to feature in India’s second Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 game against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

A day earlier, Rohit Sharma said that Iyer suffered back spasm ahead of the Ind vs Pak clash and KL Rahul was roped in the squad.

As per fresh reports, Iyer is currently under remote monitoring by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) managers, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff, and locally by the team management in Colombo.

Shreyas Iyer unavailable for 2nd Super-4 game

Sources indicate the Shreyas Iyer will not be available for the second Super 4 game. Notably, India clinched record 228-run victory over Pakistan on the back of centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma also confirmed that Shreyas Iyer was supposed to play the game against India vs Pakistan game on September 10, Sunday but as the middle-order batter suffered back spasm KL Rahul was included five minutes before the toss.
