Shikhar Dhawan Is No More ‘Preferred Opener,’ Agarkar Confirms – WATCH

New Delhi: The newly recruit Chief Selector of India Ajit Agarkar confirmed on Monday that team management has moved beyond veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan.

While announcing the 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023, Agarkar termed Shikhar Dhawan as a ‘terrific player.’

Rohit is not a bad player. Shubman has had a phenomenal year. Ishan Kisha is another one. Shikhar has been a terrific player for Team India. At the moment, three guys are doing well and you can fit only 15. Unfortunately, someone has to fit. At the moment, these are preferred option,” Agarkar said in New Delhi.
