Section 144, shops and vehicles torched, Internet snapped: Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur remain tensed after religious flag disrespected

The atmosphere in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur is quite tense after ‘desecration’ of a religious flag led to stone pelting, clashes, arson between two groups.
Considering intense environment in the city, officials have imposed section 144 of CrPC in Shastrinagar after shops and vehicles were set on fire during the clashes. Internet services have also been suspended.
Tension between two groups is brewing since Saturday night when members of a local organisation found that a piece of meat was tagged to Ram Navami flag, followed by violence taking place between both groups.
More than 50 people have been arrested in connection with violence following the alleged desecration of a religious flag at Shastrinagar in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur.
