Sapna Gill Chased Prithvi Shaw, Smashed His Car: Mumbai Police Reveals Chilling Details in Prithvi Shaw-Gill case

Social Media influences Sapna Gill’s molestation allegation on Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw at a pub in suburban Andheri in Mumbai turned out to be ‘false and unfounded,’ police told a court on Monday.

The investigating officer appeared before the magistrate on Monday, June 26 and submitted a report about the matter. The court has asked the police to submit the footage of the entire incident and adjourned the matter on June 28.

Gill had lodged a complaint before a magistrate court in Andheri seeking registration of FIR under IPC section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons of a woman) against the Indian cricketer and his friend Ashish Yadav for assaulting her.

What does the CCTV say about the molestation?

Police has told the court that CCTV footage of the pub shows that Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur were drunk and dancing. As per police, Thakur wanted to record Shaw with his mobile phone but the cricketer stopped him from taking videos.

On examination of the CCTV footage, police claimed that it does not appear that Shaw and others molested Gill in any way.

Eyewitnesses denied any sorts of molestation:

Police said that they have recorded statements of witnesses present in the pub where the alleged incident occurred and they stated that no one touched Gill inappropriately.

Gill chased Shaw with baseball bat:

On examining the Air Traffic Control tower, police learned that Sapna Gill was followed Prithvi Shaw’s car with the baseball bat in her hand. The footage also shows that she smashed Prithvi’s car.

Testimony of a CISF officials:

The report submitted by the police mentioned testimony of the CISF officials stating that no molestation with Gill took place.

The CISF official informed that when they reached the spot car’s windshield was already smashed. The official saw a woman holding a baseball bat in her hand, and her male friend took the bat from her and threw it to the side when they saw the police.

What’s the whole case?

Notably, Gill was arrested in February along with some others in connection with an alleged-on Shaw following an argument over clicking selfies at a suburban hotel.

Later, Gill approached the Airport police station and lodged a complaint of molestation and for outraging modesty against Prithvi Shaw, his friend Ashish Yadav and others.
