Russia-Ukraine war: Ukraine alleges Russian soldiers beheaded Ukrainian prisoners

In one of the most gruesome acts of terror during wars, Russian soldiers have been alleged of beheading one of the Ukrainian prisoners with a knife. Video of the same has been going viral on internet as many have already expressed their frustration over the act.

The act is the latest accusation of the atrocities said to have been committed by Russia, since it invaded Ukraine in February 2022. The Quotes was not able to independently verify the authenticity of the video, which spread quickly online.

As per CNN the video of the execution of the Ukrainian soldiers was published on April 8. It was purportedly filmed by Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group and appears to show the beheaded corpses of two Ukrainian soldiers lying on the ground next to be destroyed military vehicles.

The footage shows a man in uniform beheading a man who wears the yellow arm band used by Ukrainian solders. The video is heavily blurred and contains a voice at the beginning, which suggests that the victim might be alive at the time of beheading.

“There is something that no one in the world can ignore: how easily these beasts kill,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He further stated that Ukraine is not going to forget anything, and neither they are going to forgive the murderers. “There will be legal responsibility for everything. The defeat of terror is necessary,” Zelenskyy added.
