Colombo: Ahead of the World Cup in India, Rohit Sharma & Co. registered emphatic win in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023.
The continental tournament was regarded as a major opportunity for the South Asian nations to test their strength in multi-nation tournament ahead of the marquee clash.
Despite coming off several injury concerns and questions in regards with perfect Playing XI, Team India held their nerves till the last and produced dominating show in the Asia Cup final to clinch 10-wicket win.
While fans are elated with such a comprehensive Asia Cup title win, Rohit Sharma has suggested Indian cricket fans to celebrate after India wins the World Cup.
While addressing the media post-Asia Cup final, Rohit Sharma was addressing the media in Colombo when fans were bursting crackers outside the stadium.
Reacting to the fireworks, Rohit jokingly said;
“World Cup jeetne ke baad phodo yar.”

Notably, Team India is now gearing up to host Australia before World Cup for a white-ball series. Both the quality teams will play 3 ODIs and as many as T20Is.
The contest will start with 50-over format, and first ODI is scheduled on September 22 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, in Mohali.
Next two ODIs will take place on September 27 and 29.
