British PM Rishi Sunak, Wife Visit Akshardham Temple Barefoot – WATCH

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty reached Akshardham temple in Delhi on Sunday morning to offer prayers.

Earlier, Sunak called him a ‘proud Hindu’ on Friday during a media interaction expressing his will to visit a temple during his stay in the national capital.

As per sources, the couple spent at hour at the temple.

Jyotindra Dave, Director of the Akshardham temple said Sunak went barefoot inside the temple – tradition followed by Hindus while visiting a temple.

“After meeting him, we felt like he is a very close to Sanatana,” the director was quoted by India Today.

The director further informed that Sunak and his wife performed aarti at the temple, met the saints and also offered flowers to the idols in the temple.

“We showed him around and also gave him a model of the temple as a gift. He enjoyed every minute here. His wife also very happy. He said whenever I get a chance, I will keep coming,” the director added.
