Australian legend Adam Gilchrist feels Team India must reach out to master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, prolific all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and world-cup winning captain MS Dhoni in order to better their chance in upcoming World Cup 2023.
The marque clash is scheduled to start from October 5 in Ahmedabad with defending champion England set to lock horns with New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Team India must be high on confidence after winning Asia Cup 2023 title for the record 8th time, but Gilchirst feels Sachin, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni can help the Indian players to cope up with the pressure of playing in home.
“If I would be in the Indian hierarchy, I would be taping into guys like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni to come in and spend time with the group if they are available, and pass on all their experience. I would have tried to get guys like Yuvraj Singh, who had so much going on in his life during that 2011 tournament and ask them to speak openly,” Gilchrist told Star Sports.
The legendary wicket-keeper batter also stressed on keeping that external noise quiet and focus on their performance.
Ahead of the World Cup 2023, Team India will host Australia in 3 ODIs, starting from September 22 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
