Entertainment: A day after Farhan Akhtar confirmed that Ranveer Singh will supersede Shah Rukh Khan in the third instalment of the Don franchise, the actor on Thursday posted a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude to the filmmakers and SRK.
Taking Instagram, Singh posted his childhood pictures and revealed that portraying the Don has been his childhood manifestation.
“As a child I fell in love with the movies, and like the rest of us, watching and worshipping Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan – the two GO.A.Ts of Hindi cinema. I dreamed of growing up to be like them. They are the very reason I wanted to become an actor and a ‘hindi film hero,” he said.
The ‘Gully Boy’ actor further credited Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan for shaping him as a ‘person and actor’ he is today. “Taking their legacy forward is a manifestation of my childhood dream,” he said.
Banking on the success of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Ranveer Singh admitted that it is a huge responsibility to be part of the ‘Don’ dynasty.
“I hope the audience gives me a chance and showers me with live, the way they have for numerous characters over the past so many years,” added.
At last, Ranveer urged the audience to have faith in him as he promises to do very best to entertain everyone.
