Rahul Gandhi To Visit Violence-Hit Manipur On June 29
In a significant development, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will pay a visit to violence-hit Manipur from June 29 to 30, party’s general secretary KC Venugopal said on Tuesday.
As per party’s senior leader, Rahul Gandhi will visit the relief camps set up in the state and interact with the civil society representatives in Imphal and Churachandpur during his visit.
The Manipur CM had recently met Amit Shah in Delhi on June 25, a day after an all-party meeting was held by the Home Minister to discuss the situation in the state.
Manipur has been suffering lot of violence since May 3 as the clashes broke out between the Meitei and Kuki communities following a protest march by the Al Tribal Students’ Union Manipur. As per reports, more than 100 people have died in the state and several injured and migrated.
