Rahul Gandhi agrees to not refer Savarkar anymore: Report

National Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar has finally intervened after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remark on VD Savarkar sparked a rift in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra.

As per fresh reports, Rahul Gandhi has assured Sanjay Raut that he would avoid using the Savarkar references anymore.

After disqualification from the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said that ‘My name is not Savarkar, my name is Gandhi and Gandhi does not offer an apology to anyone.’

The remark drew sharp reaction from the Uddhav Thackeray as he said that he considered Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar as his ‘idol’ and asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to refrain from ‘insulting’ him.
