Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann gets Z plus security in the wake of Khalistani activities

Punjab: The Central Government has decided on Thursday to accord Z-plus security to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, which will be applicable across the country.

“CRPF is requested to provide Z plus Security cover on all India basis to Shri Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister, Punjab with immediate effect under, intimation to this Ministry,” the Centre said. According to PTI the latest security cover will also guard Chief Minister’s house and family members too.

The security cover for Punjab Chief Minister was recommended by the Central intelligence and security agencies during the preparation of a ‘threat perception analysis’ report of the Chief Minister n the wake of Khalistani activists in the state.

Notably, Bhagwant Mann’s daughter reportedly received threat calls from pro-Khalistani elements. Seerat Kaur Mann – Mann’s daughter, who lives in US, was allegedly abused on call by a pro-Khalistan element.
