Unidentified assailants fired and hurled crude bombs at the key witness, Umesh Pak (48), a lawyer, who was declared brought dead at a hospital, while his security guards, Sandeep and Raghvendra, are undergoing treatment.

Reportedly, one of them is on ventilator. Meanwhile, the CCTV footages from the locality shows Umesh falling on the ground and getting up before running inside his house.

Two of the assailants can be seen chasing and firing at deceased Umesh Pal. The footage also shows both Umesh and a guard lying on the porch of the house. Check out the footage.

Prayagraj’s Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma confirmed that his team is recording statements from Umesh’s family member and ten police teams have been formed to search for the shooters.

In 2017, Umesh had accused Atiq Ahmed and his brother of threatening and assaulting him when he had gone to record his statement in a kidnapping case. Notably, Atiq Ahmed is lodged in a Gujarat jail on the SC’s direction while Ashraf is in a Bareilly jail.
