Pained By The Bridge Mishap In Mizoram: PM Modi Announces Rs. 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia To Deceased Family

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in South Africa to attend BRICS Summit, offered his condolences to the families of the ones lost their lives in bridge mishap in Mizoram.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PMO said;

Pained by the bridge mishap in Mizoram. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. Rescue operations are underway and all possible assistance is being given to those affected.

Prime Minister’s office also informed that an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 Lakh from PMMRF would be given to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.

Nealy 17 people died after under-constriction bridge collapsed over the Kurung River to connect Bairabi to Sairang – collapsed around 10 am on Wednesday.

 As per reports, 30 to 40 workers are said to have trapped under the debris and the number of casualties is likely to increase.
