Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express solidarity with the people of Gaza and provide assistance in light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has caused significant casualties.
At a public meeting in Hyderabad, Owaisi reiterated his unwavering support for Palestine, stating, “I stand with Palestine. I wear the flag of Palestine proudly alongside our Tricolour.” He emphasized that the issue is not confined to Muslims but is a matter of humanitarian concern.
Owaisi appeals to PM Modi to intervene
Owaisi appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene and halt the atrocities against Palestinians, underscoring the humanitarian dimension of the crisis.
In a separate development, the Congress Working Committee also called for an “immediate cease-fire” between Israeli forces and the Hamas militant group, reiterating their longstanding support for the rights of the Palestinian people, including land rights, self-government, and dignity and respect.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has witnessed a surge in violence, with hundreds of casualties, as Hamas launched attacks on Israel on October 7.
Israeli counter-airstrikes have also resulted in significant casualties, with over 1,300 reported in Israel and more than 2,200 in Gaza. Israel claims to have targeted approximately 1,500 Hamas militants within its territory.
