ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistan Delegation To Visit India To Examine Security Arrangements At WC Venues
Islamabad: Ahead of the crucial ODI World Cup in India later this year, Pakistan Government will send its delegation to assess the security arrangements at venues in India and its reports will determine if it’s government will let the Pakistan players participate in the ICC tournament.
Fresh reports have confirmed that the timing of the visit will be finalized after the official appointment of the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
“The security delegation will go with the PCB representatives and examine the security arrangements at the venues were Pakistan will play its matches,” official from the Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Ministry said.
The official also informed that the delegation will interact with the Indian officials to ensure adequate security for the players, support staff, fans and media who will visit India during the World Cup.
“The PCB will send the report submitted by the delegation to ICC and BCCI,” offficial added.
The source quoted by the Times of India confirmed that Pakistan’s participation will depend on the final call from the government after the delegation wull submit its report.
Notably, 2023 ODI World Cup will kick start on October 5 with defending champion England taking on New Zealand at Ahemedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium. Meanwhile, Pakistan will start its World Cup campaign on October 6 in Hyderabad against the Qualifier 1.
