Not Used To Facing Quality Attack Like Pakistan: Gill

Colombo: Young batting sensation Shubman Gill has said that Indian player do follow top-seeded batter and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam to understand how he is so successful and consistent at the international stage.

On the eve of Ind vs Pak clash on September 10, Shubman Gill hailed Babar by saying that he is a ‘world class batter,’

“Yes, we definitely follow him. When a player is doing well, everyone watches him to find out why they are doing so well, what their specialty is. The same thing goes for Babar. He is a world-class player and we all do admire him,” Shubman Gill said on Saturday in Colombo.

Gill on facing Pakistan’s quality pace attack.

“When you are not playing at this level, you play left-arm pacers previously at some point in your career. We do not play Pakistan that much as compared to the other side. They have a quality bolwing attack. When you do not face such a bowling attack frequently and are not used to it, makes a difference,” Gill added.

Earlier, India vs Pakistan faced each other on September 2 but the match ended in a draw as the second innings was washed out due to rain. ACC has granted September 11 as a reserve day for tomorrow’s match.
