Senior Bollywood actress Kajol stirred a row on July 8, Saturday when she said the country is being led by the political leaders who lack ‘vision and viewpoint’ which good education provides.
While speaking to The Quint, Kajol said that change in India is slow because the people are steeped in traditions and lack proper education.
“Change especially in a country like India is slow. It is very very slow. Because we are steeped in our traditions and steeped in our thought process and, of course, it has to do with education,” she said.
The Lust Stories 2 actress also went on to add that the country has many political leaders who do not have an educational system background.
“I am sorry but I am going to go out and say that. I am being ruled by leaders, so many of them, who do not have that viewpoint which I think education does give you atleast the chance to look out for a different viewpoint,” she added.
However, Kajol soon release a clarification as she claimed that she didn’t want to hurt anyone, adding that ‘we have many leaders who are guiding the country on the right path.’
