No Plans To Adavance Or Delay Elections: Anurag Thakur

Days after Opposition claimed that Narendra Modi-led government is planning to hold general elections prior to it’s schedule, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has rubbished the claims.

While speaking to the India Today, minister asserted that the PM Modi wants to serve India’s citizens till the last day of his term.

Union Minister said that the government has no plans to delay the forthcoming round of assembly elections to hold them later along with the general elections.

The minister also hinted that the government has big plans for the special session of Parliament which starts on September 18.

Notably, government has called for a Special Session of Parliament from September 18 to September 22.

Amid reports of government might table One Nation One Elections bill during the Special Session, government has formed a 8-member panel to examine the possibilities of holding Lok Sabha election and Assembly elections, simultaneously.
