Newborn dies after dog drags him outside Karnataka hospital

In an unfortunate turn of events, the body of a newborn was reportedly dragged around by a dog near the maternity ward of a government hospital in Karanatak’s Shivamogga district on Saturday.

As per reports, security guards at McGann district hospital informed that they chased away the dog after they noticed it was running around the hospital’s maternity ward carrying what appeared to be a newborn baby in its mouth around 7 am on Saturday.

The child died by the time it was taken for the medical examination. However, officials are now trying to ascertain if the child died before the dog attacked him or before. The parents of the child have not been identified yet.  

Meanwhile, a police complaint has been filed in the matter and officials are investigating the documents to check the identify of the parent of the child.
