Nashik Shocker: 11 Men Held For Beating Abdul Ansari To Death Over Beef Suspicion
Nashik: 11 men have been arrested by the local police for allegedly beating a man with iron rods and stick to death over suspicious of carrying beef in car, on Monday.
Police has informed that around 15 men stopped a car on its way from Ahmedabad to Mumbai on Saturday after receiving a tip-off from a toll plaza employee.
Cow protectors:
The vigilante group beat up two men – Afan Abdul Maajid Ansari and Nasir Hussain – with iron rod and sticks. Meanwhile, Afan succumbed to the injuries.
Police has informed that accused claimed to be cow protectors. “They have been charged with murder. The accused will be produced before the court on Monday,” Police superintendent Shahji Umap said.
WhatsApp Group:
The officer further informed that the accused have a WhatsApp group. “Whenever they get any tip off regarding someone carrying a meat, they take action. The toll booth employe spotted blood stain in the car and messaged in WhatsApp group,” Umap said.
Police has further claimed that they have recovered 450 kg of meat and only after forensic examination it will be clear if the meat was of cow or buffalo.
