Manipur Viral Video: Twitter Demands ‘Immediate Resignation’ Of Chief Minister N Biren Singh

Social Media: After two-months-old horrific incident of two women being paraded naked and simultanously sexually assaulted in violence-hit Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that his state government will take suo motu cognizance on the matter.
Taking to Twitter, Singh said that his heart ‘go out to the two women who were subjected to a deeply disrectful and inhumane act, as shown in the distresing video that surfaced yesterday.’
“After taking a Suo-moto cognisance of the incident immediately after the video surfaced, the Manipur Police swung to action and made the first arrest this morning. A thorough investigation is currently underway and we will ensure strict action is taken against all the perpetrators, including considering the possibility of capital punishment,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Manipur CM faced flak from social media users for responding on the incident after two months went the incident went viral on internet.
Many internet users responded sharply to the incidnet and schooled BJP leader for his lackluster attitude towards the incidnet, while many demanded for his resignation.
