MotoGP Bharat 2023: Sports Minister Anurag Thakur Receives Official Invitation; Spins Racing Bike Amid Rain

India is gracing to host its first ever MotoGP event, scheduled to take place at the Buddha International Circuit on September 22-24. The excitement for highly-competitive race is not just among the fans but even Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur couldn’t hide it when MotoGP Bharat team came to extend official invitation for the race at his residence in New Delhi.
The minister flaunted his daredevil spirit as he braved the torrential rain by hopping on a bike and joined the group of bikers for a spin who had come along with the officials of FairStreet Sports – the Indian promoters of the MotoGP Bharat. Watch the video here.
“The helmet in my hand says a lot. MotoGP is going to take place in India for the very first time and its one of the biggest motorsports events for the country which will take place in Gautambuddh Nagar. This race will act as catalyst in promoting racing bikes and the growth of automobile industry,” he said after receiving official invitation.
Meanwhile, FairStreet Sports CEO Pushkar Nath Srivastava assured that his team is working hard to create a unforgettable MotoGP Bharat experience. “With Shri Anurag Thakur joining the bikers to take a ride despite the weather only shows how gripping MotoGP fever is and has every potential to rave up Bharat,” he said.
Hon’ble Union Minister also interacted with the team, signed a helmet as memorabilia and later thanked the bikers for the adventurous ride.
