MHA identified 84 active terror organisations, but none ‘Hindu Terror’: RTI Activist

According to Pune-based businessman and social activist the term ‘Hindu or saffron terrorism’ is coined by some politicians and does not hold any credibility.

In his RTI findings, the activist sought information regarding active terrorist organisations in India and asked their names and details. He also sought the details about steps taken to control active terrorist organisations in India, and asked details about the term ‘Hindu or Saffron terrorism.’

He specifically asked about the connection of ‘Hindu or Saffron’ terrorist’s involvement in 2006 Malegaon bomb blast or any bomb blast. The Home Ministry in its response confirmed 42 organisations as ‘Terrorist Organisation’ under Section 35 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).

“I am not deeply hurt not just as an Indian but also as a Hindu. Just to garner some votes of a particular community, political leaders continuously defame Hindus by highlighting fake terms like Hindu or saffron terrorism. However, RTI findings makes it clear that term Hindu terrorism is non-existent, Islamic terrorism exists and troubles by killing millions of people globally,” Mr. Sarda told The Quotes.

Measures to tackle terrorism:

The ministry further informed that it is taking stringent measures to counter the menace of terrorism which includes augmenting the strength of the Central Armed Police Force, capacity building of special forces, tighter immigration control; effective border management; through round-the-clock surveillance and patrolling on the border; establishment of observation posts, border fencing. floodlighting, deployment of modern and hi-tech surveillance equipment; up gradation of intelligence and coastal security, etc.

Names of the terror organisation:

Babbar Khalsa International, Khalistan Commando Force, Khalistan Zindabad Force, International Sikh Youth Federation, Lashkar-E-Taiba/Pasban-E-Ahle Hadis, Jaish-E-Mohammed/Tahrik-E-Furqan,  Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen or Harkat-Ul-Ansar or Harkat-Ul-Jihad-E-Islami or Ansar-Ul-Ummah (AUU), Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen/ Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen Pir Panjal Regiment and many others.
