Men’s Cricket Team Jets Off To China For Asian Games 2023; Captain Ruturaj To Join Later

Second-string Team India left for China on September 21, Thursday for highly-anticipated Asian Games 2023.

Notably, skipper for the tournament Ruturaj Gaikwad will join the team next week as he is part of the India ODI squad for the first two ODIs against Australia, starting from September 22.

Meanwhile, players like Rahul Tripathi, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep have jetted off to China for the Continental Games.

Gavaskar-led India will kick start their Asian Games campaign on October28. Team India will have seven days before they play their first quarter-final match.

As head coach Rahul Dravid is currently busy for the Australia series, VVS Laxman has been given responsibility to guide Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side during the Asian Games 2023.
