Manipur Shocker: Too little, Too late, Says Dia Mirza

The horrific sexual assault and public humiliation with two women from Kuki-Zomi community in Manipur’s Thoubal district has shaken conscience of the whole nation and unearthed several questions in regards with the current situation in Manipur.
While Manipur police has arrested four accused months after the incident took place, Bollywood actress Dia Mirza expressed her shocked and sorrow over Manipur incident.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote;
“This is violence at the heart of silence. this silence that so many of us chose over the last 70 days is deafening… Our collective conscience is shaken now? Too little. Too late. Much like all of us speaking out now.”
She further quoted Babasaheb Ambedkar as he wrote, ‘Without humanity, your glory is worthless.’ “This violence needs to STOP. An act of violence against one woman is violence perpetuated against every woman, everywhere,” she added.
Notably, the horrific incident took place on May 4 when two women were forcible paraded naked and simultaneously sexually assaulted by a mob of men before the victims managed to escape.
