Manipur Horror: Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan Reacts; ‘Cannot Allow Women To Be Pawn’

After a video of two women from the Kuki-Zomi community being paraded naked and sexually assaulted in Manipur surfaced and caused massive outrage in the country, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor reacted sharply to the incident.

Notably, the incident took place on May 4 where two women were merciless paraded naked and sexually assaulted by mob of men.

While the FIR, on charges of abduction, gangrape, and murder against ‘unknown and miscreants’ was registered two months ago, police started arrested only after video of the incident went viral.

Priyanka Chopra On Manipur Incident:

Taking to Instagram, Priyanka Chopra wrote;

It took a video going viral…7 days after the heinous crimes against committed…Before actions were taken. Rationale? Reasons? None matter-irrespective of what and why, situational or circumstantial, we cannot allow women to be pawns in any games.

Kareena Kapoor on Manipur Incident:

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan admitted that she is ‘deeply disturbed with the situation in Manipur.’

All words of condoning the crimes nothing until action is taken. Swiftly,” she added.

Four accused arrests in Manipur incident:

Manipur police has arrested four accused after the video went viral on social media and state administration started facing severe criticism over the lack of action in the matter.
