Man Claims Responsibility For Kerala Blast, Surrenders to Police

KERALA: In Kerala’s Thrissur district, an individual named Dominic Martin has come forward, claiming responsibility for the series of explosions that occurred during a prayer meeting in Kalamassery, resulting in one fatality and 40 injuries.
Kalamassery’s ADGP (Additional Director General of Police for Law and Order), MR Ajith Kumar, revealed that Dominic Martin surrendered himself at Kodakara Police Station in Thrissur Rural and asserted his involvement in the incident.
He stated that Martin claimed to be associated with the same group responsible for the gathering. However, the police are currently in the process of verifying these claims. Ajith Kumar mentioned, “We are examining all aspects of this case…The blasts occurred in the central area of the hall.”
It is important to note that the police have not yet officially confirmed Martin’s connection to the blasts, and a thorough interrogation of the individual is currently underway.
Initial investigations suggest that the explosives were concealed in a tiffin box, with the first explosion reported at 9:40 am. Kerala’s Director General of Police, Shaik Darvesh Saheb, noted that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was used in the attack.
